Seoul to open fine dust research center on May 20

Seoul City will open a fine dust research institute today, … to oversee efforts to reduce the effects of environmental pollution in the capital.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on Sunday, the center will manage cooperative studies between the Seoul Institute, the Seoul Institute of Technology and the Seoul Research Institute of Public Health and Environment.
The three institutes will meet on a regular basis to share their findings, …and the center will select urgent problems for the three to work on together.
It also plans to seek international cooperation with other Northeast Asian cities, including Beijing.
The newly created center will be headed by Park Rok-jin, a professor of the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Seoul National University.
