PM asks National Assembly to start deliberations on extra budget bill

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon has called on the National Assembly to start deliberations on the government's extra budget proposal.
Speaking at a meeting with cabinet ministers on Thursday,... Lee said that despite their differences,... lawmakers still need to get to work on the bill, worth 5-point-6 billion U.S. dollar,... which was submitted three weeks ago.
He said the budget is needed to tackle downside economic risks... and to deal with the aftermath of recent natural disasters.
Lee also advised relevant ministries to come up with measures to minimize the impact of heatwaves and typhoons this summer,... and called on officials to keep up the government's drive to deregulate.
