S. Korea's unemployment rate hits 4.4% last month; highest level for April since 2000

The number of employed people in South Korea reached 27-million in April, an on-year increase of 171-thousand.
Statistics Korea said Wednesday, this is the first time in three months,... that the increase has been below the 200-thousand mark.
South Korea's health and technology services sectors accounted for most of the job gains,... but the number of retail and manufacturing jobs went down.
The country's unemployment rate rose to four-point-four percent last month, up zero-point-three percentage points on-year.
This is a record high for the month of April since 2000.
