A record number of new companies opened in Korea in the first quarter amid steady growth in the service sector.
According to the SMEs ministry, just under 27-thousand new firms were established - an on-year rise of nearly one percent.
Wholesale and retail businesses took up most of the newly founded companies, followed by manufacturing firms.
