U.S. toughens sanctions on Iran over nuclear program
  • 5 years ago
Shifting gears now,... Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says his country must counter U.S. sanctions by continuing to export its oil as well as boosting non-oil exports.
His comments came Saturday,... a day after the U.S. State Department acted to force Iran to stop producing low-enriched uranium and expanding its only nuclear power plant.
He said Washington is trying to "sow discord and division" in Iran to bring the country down and decrease its foreign reserves.
Rouhani said Iranians must safeguard against such actions by increasing hard currency income while cutting currency expenditures.
