"San Antonio Rose", a song written by Bob Wills, is written in first person with 'Rose of San Antone" being the gentleman's lost love. Growing up in the southwest, Wills included some Mexican influence within the song, with the melody being a reversal of the bridge of the traditional "Spanish Two Step".
