Bank of Korea Governor Lee Ju-yeol says the country's economy could improve in the second quarter, ruling out the possibility of an imminent rate cut.
His comments at an Asian Development Bank meeting on Wednesday in Fiji came after South Korea recorded its worst GDP slump in nearly a decade.
Lee also told reporters that the recently weakening won won't have a big impact on Korean exports as they are mostly comprised of high end goods that have low price elasticity of demand.
