S. Korea's oldest stone pagoda unveiled after 20 years of restoration

The long restoration work on South Korea's oldest and biggest stone pagoda,... ( ) Mireuksaji Seoktap, is finally complete.
After 20 years of painstaking effort,.... the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage is officially revealing the pagoda in Iksan, Jeollabuk-do Province to the public on Tuesday.
In 1999,.... the national institute concluded that the country's treasure Number 11 was in serious need of restoration as the structure was unstable.
The repairs started in 2001,.... and the dismantlement of the pagoda alone took nearly 10 years,… making it the country's longest restoration work for a single cultural heritage item.
