U.S. aims to achieve FFVD, reduced risk from N. Korea in conventional measures: Pompeo
  • 5 years ago
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says Washington's goal on North Korea is the regime's final, fully verified denuclearization and less risk from conventional measures.
Pompeo explained before the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee hearing on Tuesday that the U.S. objective also includes a brighter future for the North Korean people.
This is the first time Pompeo has mentioned the risks associated with North Korea's conventional weapons.
While denuclearization has been dealt with between Pyeongyang and Washington,... alleviating military tensions caused by conventional weapons has been left in the hands of the two Koreas.
