Early voting has kicked off for the April 3rd by-election.
Up for grabs: the districts of Changwon and Tongyeong-Goseong -- both in Gyeongsangnam-do Province.
Voters will be able to visit any of the 43 polling stations in the two constituencies for the next two days between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Although it's only two parliamentary seats,... the by-election will serve as a litmus test to see public sentiment towards the political parties in the southeastern province.... ahead of next year's general elections.
A poll in mid-March showed the main opposition Liberty Korea Party and the minor progressive Justice Party are neck-and-neck in the race for the Changwon district.
But the Justice Party may get a boost,.. as it decided earlier this week to file single candidacy with the ruling Democratic Party.
The same poll showed the Liberty Korea Party candidate has a comfortable lead in the Tongyeong-Goseong constituency.
