China has promised to continue fully implementing UN Security Council sanctions on North Korea.
That pledge was part of a joint statement signed between China and France... after Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Paris this week with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
China, along with Russia, has been insisting that the sanctions need to be eased as the North takes steps to get rid of its nuclear programs.
But observers say that with China and France both permanent members of the Security Council, the statement shows both of them are in line with the U.S. on the regime's denuclearization.
