'조두순법' 국회 본회의 통과…비쟁점법안 16건 처리

South Korea's National Assembly passed 16 non-contested bills during a plenary session earlier this afternoon.
It was technically the first full parliament session of 2019 in which bills were voted on.
Among the bills passed... is one that will promote so-called "blind recruitment" -- to ensure a fair hiring process.
Companies will be fined if they ask job applicants to put personal details on their resume,... such as their weight, height, or their relatives' wealth, jobs or academic background.
Another bill passed will allow the appointment of dedicated probation officers... for offenders who committed sex offenses against minors.
The National Assembly has one more plenary session scheduled before the March parliamentary session comes to a close.
