Amazon and Volkswagen have announced a new global partnership to create an industrial cloud for the German automaker's 122 facilities.
According to a statement by Amazon,... 'Amazon Web Service" will power the Volkswagen Industrial Cloud,... in order to standardize and network all production-level machinery, equipment and systems,... simplifying data exchange between systems and plants.
They aim to put the Industrial Cloud and its first functions into operation by the end of 2019.
While Amazon is best-known for its e-commerce,... the web services division has become the dominant cloud provider.
