Perlis Mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin's vehicle has suffered serious damage after a fire.
Perlis police chief Noor Mushar Mohd said the cause of the fire could have been from a petrol bomb.
However, Mohd Asri claimed the Fire and Rescue Department had told him there was no sabotage and that the fire had started internally.
