FDI by Korean companies hits record-high in 2018

Foreign direct investment by Korean companies reached a yearly record-high of nearly 50-billion U.S. dollars last year.
Data by the Ministry of Economy and Finance released Friday shows that combined overseas investment rose by nearly 12-percent from the previous year to around 49-point-8-billion dollars as of the end of last year.
Steep rises were seen in the manufacturing sector, particularly in areas related to semiconductor facility investment,... mainly in China and Vietnam.
It was followed by investment related to the finance and insurance sectors.
By region, Asia saw the most investment, followed by Europe and North America.
