'북미회담 결과에도 인도적 지원 면제 계속돼야'

Although North Korea and the U.S. failed to strike a deal at last week's Hanoi summit, it shouldn't be reason enough to tighten sanctions that could hamper humanitarian efforts in North Korea.
This according to Thierry Ribaux, the head of the Pyeongyang office of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
He told Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency that the UN Security Council needs to continue giving sanctions exemptions for humanitarian purposes.
Ribaux also stressed that South and North Korea should arrange more face-to-face reunions of families separated by the Korean War, rather than video meetings.
He added the Red Cross is willing to help reconnect family members.
Inter-Korean family reunions were held in August last year, the first such event in three years.
