Ultra fine dust cloaks Korea

We start with the atrocious air pollution affecting most of South Korea.
A massive cloud of ultra-fine dust has been lingering over the country for almost a week now,... a depressing situation for those of us who want to go outside and enjoy the early spring weather.
We have our weathercaster Lee Jee-hyun outside of Gangnam station again this morning, one of the busiest -- if not the busiest -- commuter hubs in southern Seoul.
Jee-hyun, we are sad to report that it's another extremely smoggy day...

Good morning, Mark.
Korea has been in a grip of severe toxic smog for six consecutive days now, ultra fine dust concentration levels are three to five times higher than normal. Be sure to wear an adequate face mask that has KF 94 or higher mark, I know it's pretty annoying but it's the least we can do to protect ourselves from the toxic dust. Masks must be single use, throw them away and find a fresh one every day.

Ultra fine dust alerts are in place for much of the country, an ultra fine dust warning remains in place here in Seoul, but there is really no place to escape from nasty air if you are in Korea.

The ultra fine dust will remain bad to very bad levels across the country, the ministry of Environment said we could see better air on Thursday, but let's all keep an eye on the dust levels.

It's Gyeongchip today, it signifies the awakening of hibernating insects and frogs by the warm spring weather. So the temperature will continue to hover above seasonal norms.

Extra jacket will be necessary for your morning commute, Jeju and southern coastal regions will see light showers until noon.

Daily highs will be a couple notches lower than yesterday, Seoul will get up to 11 degrees with a dry weather advisory in place. 14 in Daejeon and Gyeongju.

Light sprinkles are expected in the capital area as well in the afternoon, but it won't do much to relieve the dryness or clear the dust away. That's all for me at this hour. Stay safe.
