The newly appointed Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath has ordered a ban on Wednesday on the consumption of tobacco products and usage of plastic bags in the government offices throughout the state.

District Magistrate of Bareilly, Surendra Singh issued advisory to all government officers to dress formally to encourage discipline and an effective working environment.

"There will be strict action against officers who consume pan, gutkha and tobacco in official premises," said Singh.

The ban has come after UP CM paid visit to Secretariat Annexe building in Lucknow and the dismal condition of the place left him irked.
