Rameswaram: A day before Sri Lanka's first elected Tamil chief minister's sworn in by President Mahinda Rajapakse and External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid's two-day visit to Sri Lanka, the Lankan Navy on Sunday damaged fishing nets of Indian fishermen, who had ventured into the sea from Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu.
According to television reports, fishing nets of 50 boats were allegedly damaged by Sri Lankan Naval personnel and front portion of one boat was severely damaged.
