Kanpur train accident: Victims given compensation in banned currency

Adding more troubles to the victims of Kanpur train tragedy in which 133 people died and more than 150 were injured, the Railway Ministry on Sunday gave old currency notes as compensation to the sufferers.
According to sources, the notes that were handed mostly in banned currency and the frustrated victims didn’t know what to do with the demonetised notes at a time when millions of the people have been queuing up outside banks and ATMs across the country.
