BJP under its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is trying to bring back rebels such as B.S. Yeddyurappa and Babulal Marandi to its fold to consolidate its position in the states ahead of the 2014 general elections.
The party is also trying to firm up pre-poll alliances with regional players such as the Indian National Lok Dal in Haryana, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu and the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh.
