NewsX: Panchayat Poll begins in Andhra Pradesh

NewsX: Over one crore rural voters will elect 5803 sarpanches in the first phase of panchayat polls in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. From 7 AM, the voters will line up the polling booths to cast their votes in 21 districts across the state. The counting will end by 2 PM, after which the vote counting would be taken up immediately.
By evening today, a new grass-root level political class will emerge redefining the contours of the assembly and Lok Sabha polls of 2014. When joined together, these gram panchayat dots will provide the shape of the things to come in the all-important Andhra Pradesh.
These villages will go to the polls on 31st of July.The second phase would be held on 27th and the third and final phase would be held on 31st of July.
