NewsX: Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission on Sunday rescheduled certain polls in Phase 1 of the ongoing Gram Panchayat election process in several villages.

The changes have been brought about in view of the incessant rains in Andhra Pradesh that have affected certain villages in the districts of Adilabad, East Godavari, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nizamabad and Warangal.

As per the altered program, the polling in these villages would be held on July 31 and the votes will be counted on the same day. The gram panchayat elections, if required, will be held in three phases on July 23, 27 and 31.
