Mayawati demands resignation of Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley hits back
  • 5 years ago
Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, cited rules saying the demand for the resignation of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for nearly 45 deaths in the Vyapam scam is a state law and order issue and therefore outside the purview of Parliament. Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati also backed the argument, passionately making the point that Vyapam is not a state issue. In the Lok Sabha the Congress has been demanding the resignation of Chouhan as well as External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
