Kolkata fire: Mamata announces compensation, 19 dead

Another ghastly fire accident in a building in Kolkata's old and cramped markets that are proving to be death traps. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the site of fire accident at a market place in Kolkata. The CM has not only promised a swift enquiry and action into the killer fire tragedy but also announced compensation to those affected. A major fire broke out early this morning at Kolkata's Surayasen market, killing at least 19 people. Many people are still feared trapped inside and efforts are on to reach them.
