Trump Touts 50% Approval Rating: 'Working Hard, Thank You!'

President Trump touted his approval rating in a tweet on Friday.
President Trump on Friday celebrated his recent 50% approval rating with a tweet. The post stated, "Working hard, thank you!" and included an image of Trump in front of a "Promises Made, Promises Kept" sign and the words "50% Approval" in giant letters.
The 50% approval rating comes from conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports' daily tracking poll.
The polling site notes: "Daily tracking results are collected via telephone surveys of 500 likely voters per night and reported on a three-day rolling average basis." In the past, Trump has suggested his approval numbers would be a lot higher in the absence of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe.
"Without the phony Russia Witch Hunt, and with all that we have accomplished in the last almost two years (Tax & Regulation Cuts, Judge's, Military, Vets, etc.) my approval rating would be at 75% rather than the 50% just reported by Rasmussen," Trump tweeted in December. "It's called Presidential Harassment!"
The president, however, has been quick to dismiss polls that show lower approval ratings.
Months ago, at a rally in Tampa, Florida, he told his audience that "polls are fake, just like everything else."
