Sabarimala Temple row: In U-turn, Travancore Devaswom Board supports entry of women of all ages
  • 5 years ago
In a huge U-turn, Travancore Devaswom Board, which manages the Sabarimala Temple, has decided to allow entry of women between the age of 10 and 50, said Board’s counsel Rakesh Dwivedi. “The board has taken a conscious decision to support and respect the judgement of SC & implement it. The board thinks that is a right judgment in right direction & it grants equality to women in the matters of worship,” Dwivedi told ANI. The decision came on the same day when the Supreme Court reserved its verdict on petitions filed against its September 28 judgment in which it allowed women between the age of 10 and 50 the right to worship in the Sabarimala temple.
