Two women below the age of 50 have said they offered prayers at the Sabarimala temple in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district, a claim denied by police. Activists Bindhu and Kanakadurga told a news channel that they offered prayers at the hilltop shrine dedicated to Lord Ayyappa 3am in the morning. They claimed they came in men’s attire and two dozen police officers accompanied them. Reports said both came in an ambulance and police discreetly made arrangements for them. The women have also released pictures of them worshiping at the temple.
