Korean Confederation of Trade Unions fails to rejoin social dialogue body of Tripartite Commission
  • 5 years ago
The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, or K-C-T-U, has failed to rejoin South Korea's Presidential Tripartite Commission which discusses deals between the government, management and labor.
While the confederation hosted a general assembly of representatives on Monday,...where some one-thousand members engaged in an intense debate,... they rejected all three motions to rejoin the social dialogue body.
The KCTU withdrew from the Tripartite Commission in 1999 to protest against the government’s introduction of the dispatch worker system and arbitrary dismissals of workers.
