S. Korea's ruling party chair vows all efforts to revitalize economy, foster peace

The chief of South Korea's ruling Democratic Party has vowed to do everything he can this year to revitalize the economy and foster peace on the peninsula.
In his new year's press conference on Sunday,... Lee Hae-chan said that the ruling party will be at the forefront to support the government's goal of building a nation in which everyone prospers.
He said that the National Assembly passed a number of bills last year to boost people's livelihoods,... but noted that some people have not been able to feel the impact.
To this, he said that the party will do more to reach out to those in need,... and also focus on building a social dialogue.
The ruling party chief also said this year is a good opportunity to revamp the country's electoral system since there's no nationwide election scheduled,... adding that his party will look for the best way to strengthen proportionality and representation.
Lee also vowed to work as a team with the government and the presidential office,... and called on rival parties to cooperate to be productive and to work for the people.
