'Choose Your Own Adventure'
Sues Netflix Over 'Bandersnatch' Chooseco LLC owns the rights
to the popular Choose Your
Own Adventure book series. It claims that the
recent Black Mirror: Bandersnatch
“infringes on its trademarks." The publisher is seeking at
least $25 million in damages
from the streaming giant. Bandersnatch is an interactive
show in which viewers
decide what happens
to the characters. It's an idea made popular by the
Choose Your Own Adventure
book series in the 1980s. Netflix had been in
negotiations with the
publishers for years
to get the rights to
the book series. 20th Century Fox —
soon to be owned by Disney —
owns the movie rights to the series. Disney will debut
its own streaming service,
Disney+, sometime this year.
