President Moon Jae-in is standing by his administration's economic policies of growth led by rising incomes and innovation.
In his press conference,... the president focused on the economy with the aim of getting tangible results.
Have a listen.
"This year's objective is to make the people feel in their own lives that the government's economic policy is heading in the right direction. And to that end, tangible outcomes must be produced."
He added that if necessary,... his administration is willing to make changes in order to build an innovative and inclusive nation.
As for North Korea,... President Moon said a declaration of the end of the Korean War would speed up the denuclearization process.
"I believe if the parties agree to come up with declaration that resolves their hostile relations, North Korea would speed up its denuclearization and perhaps even sign a peace treaty."
President Moon also said Kim Jong-un is well aware of the fact that the presence of U.S. troops in South Korea is irrelevant to denuclearization and to the official end of the war.
We'll look closely at all these aspects of the president's news conference in our newscast at 6 P.M. Korea time.
