27주년 맞이한 수요시위... 할머니들의 바람은 이루어질 수 있을까

Today marks the 27th anniversary of the so-called Wednesday Demonstrations... in which the women who survived sexual slavery by Japan... have gathered outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul.
Almost every Wednesday since 1992 they've met there along with civic groups and ordinary citizens to demand an official apology from Japan.
They say... the agreement reached by Seoul and Tokyo in 2015 -- meant to settle the so-called comfort women issue -- is not valid... because it did not take into account the views of the victims.
The weekly gatherings used to be attended by the survivors themselves until late last year, but at an average age of 91, they've been unable to go because of their health.
Only 25 of them are still living... after eight of them died last year alone.
