Coldest day of the season so far, tomorrow could be even colder _ 122718

Good afternoon. I am Lee Jee-hyun with the latest weather update reporting from Gangnam station on this coldest day of the winter so far.
Most of of us in Korea, especially those in the northern regions, had a real bone-chilling morning commute and the biting winds were no help.

A cold wave advisory has been issued for many parts of the country, and a warning has been issued for northern areas... dry weather alerts are also in place in many regions including here in Seoul.

Snow is in the forecast for Jeolla-do provinces and Jeju Island into tomorrow, Korea's easternmost islands of Dokdo and Ulleungdo will see 10 to 30 centimeters of heavy snow.

Beijing is enduring an icy cold day as well, but Tokyo is having bearable temperatures.

Back here in Korea, expect to have sub-zero temperatures all day, Seoul will reach a high of minus 6 degrees Celsius... but it will feel closer to minus 10... and the rest of the country will also notice the huge drop in readings.

The cold snap is likely to persist through the remainder of December. But there's good news for those plan to head out to see the last sunset of 2018 and the first sunrise of the new year... the weather should become a bit more bearable by then.

That's all for now, stay warm
