Seoul's Zero Pay trial service begins on Thursday

The trial service of a smartphone payment system called "Zero Pay" begins today here in Seoul.
With this system,.... customers can directly pay for products simply by scanning QR codes at stores.
The payment system was created by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.... to help relieve small business owners from the burden of paying credit card transaction fees which can go up to 1-point-9 percent.
Zero Pay charges little to no transaction fee, up to zero-point-5 percent.
And consumers, starting from next year,... can get a 40 percent refund on income tax deduction by using this service.
This service will officially launch next March.... and Seoul is planning to implement this system nationwide.
