Pres. Moon asks new finance minister to get hands-on in managing economic team

President Moon Jae-in was briefed earlier today by his newly appointed minister of economy and finance, Hong Nam-ki, on the nation's current economic situation and its economic policy direction for 2019.
In the meeting, which lasted for about 100 minutes, President Moon asked the new minister to personally manage the government's economic team because the economy right now needs a lot of attention.
Minister Hong, who doubles as deputy PM, asked that he be allowed to give President Moon a bi-weekly briefing,... which the President granted, and they both agreed to give the public regular reports.
President Moon also said that this coming Friday he will chair an expanded meeting of his ministers and secretaries related to the economy... to discuss the policy direction for next year.
