제 17차 세계한상대회 23일 인천 송도에서 개막

The annual World Korean Business Convention was established in 2002 to help Korean businessmen at home and abroad broaden their business connections and share their know-how.
This year's event opened today at Songdo Convensia in Incheon,...where President Moon Jae-in delivered a congratulatory address.

The 17th World Korean Business Convention kicked off Tuesday in Incheon.
More than 13-hundred local and overseas Korean entrepreneurs gathered together to strengthen economic exchanges.
"The goal of Incheon is to open the way for Korea and connect it with the world. It matches the goal of the World Korean Business Convention, which is to expand Korea's economic map in the world. Through the ever-advancing World Korean Business Convention, I hope your business activities can shine even brighter in the world."
President Moon thanked overseas Korean entrepreneurs for their hardwork and success, and emphasized the need to strengthen the so-called "Korean business network," in which local and overseas Koreans boost their ties and create more business opportunities amid growing global trade protectionism and technological changes.
He said the government has been working on encouraging investment in new industries and expanding ties with countries in Asia and Europe,... and also encouraged overseas Korean businessmen to help small and mid-sized Korean firms and young people move overseas and become the business leaders of the next generation.
At the same time, President Moon called for overseas Koreans' support in achieving a peaceful, prosperous Korean Peninsula.
Over four-thousand participants including overseas Korean businessmen from around 60 countries are expected to attend this year's convention to network and explore business opportunities.
The event will feature a variety of programs such as exhibitions and one-on-one business meetings and will run through Thursday.
