European Council chief says 'no optimism' for summit breakthrough

As the deadlock on a Brexit deal continues, European Council President Donald Tusk has called on British Prime Minister Theresa May to come up with "concrete proposals."
His comments on Tuesday came on the eve of a crunch summit between the UK and the EU where both sides will try to resolve the issue of the Irish border - a key sticking point in Brexit talks.
However, Tusk painted a gloomy picture, saying he had "no grounds for optimism" the matter would be solved at the summit.
Mrs. May told her cabinet a deal was within reach if the government "stands together and stand firm."
