Different Strokes with Sitaram Yechury. The show is based on an exclusive interaction with the CPI (M) General Secretary where he talks candidly about his life beyond politics. “I was named Sitaramarao, after my grandfather, but I dropped the caste appendage and carried on with my name,” he told Kumkum Chadha in an interview. A Telugu-speaking Brahmin, Yechury spent the early years of his life in Andhra Pradesh. In this show he talks about his early life, how he got into student politics, near escapes during the Emergency, the decade he spent as a Rajya Sabha MP and more. Politics has taken away his me-time, but Yechury says he does try and snatch moments to listen to his favourite songs to unwind. Different Strokes is a weekly interview based show by Hindustan Times which looks at the lives of politicians, artists and celebrities from a different prism.
