South Korea's new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Park Han-ki... has vowed to strengthen military readiness and support peace on the Korean Peninsula.
During his inauguration speech on Thursday, Park said proactive efforts will be made... to implement the military agreement struck between the two Koreas during last month's summit.
He added that the current security situation on the Korean Peninsula is at a historic crossroads... where the nation is moving towards peace and prospersity after a long period of confrontation.
Park also pledged to take all-out efforts... to create a military that is trusted by the citizens.
