High-level delegations of South and North Korea met briefly on Friday to share what they should work on together throughout the rest of the year.
Oh Jung-hee has the details.
High-level delegations of South and North Korea met briefly on Friday on the sidelines of 2007 summit anniversary event in the North Korean capital.
Meeting just two weeks after last month's inter-Korean summit,... the focus of the meeting was naturally on implementing the September Joint Declaration.

At a press briefing afterwards, Seoul's unification minister highlighted... the two Koreas need to reschedule and begin joint railway inspections... above anything else.
South Korea initially planned to send a research team to the North in late August for inspections,... which failed in the end after the UN Command disapproved of it.
Another matter that requires close cooperation... is the issue of war-separated families.

"The North is to lift its confiscation on our assets at Mount Geumgang and we are going to continue cooperating on opening a permanent facility for war-torn families to meet. For these families to hold video meetings and exchange video messages, we need to hold Red Cross Talks for further discussions."

Meanwhile, a North Korean art troupe will hold a concert in Seoul this month... as a reciprocal visit to South Korean artists' performance in Pyeongyang earlier this year.
Seoul will also bring over North Korean cultural relics... to display them at an exhibition later this year to mark 11-hundred years of the establishment of the Goryeo Dynasty.
All these issues are to be ironed out through the inter-Korean joint liaison office in Gaeseong.

"We agreed to first discuss things through the joint liaison office... and meet for talks if necessary. Based on what we've shared today, we expect to specify our work items at the office next week."
