A Russian ship sanctioned by the United States was released Tuesday from South Korea's southern port of Busan.
The Sevastopol entered the port in mid-August, but it was later targeted by the U.S., which suspected its owners of violating United Nations sanctions on North Korea.
Because there was a possibility of the ship trading with the North illegally, the South temporarily banned the ship from leaving the port in September.
But according to Seoul's foreign ministry, the ship did not violate UN Security Council resolutions, so the ban was lifted.
