Study Finds a Mediterranean Diet Is Healthy for Older Adults The Mediterranean diet has long been praised for its various
health benefits. But a new study has revealed that the diet can help prolong life for those 65 and older. The Mediterranean diet consists of largely plant-based meals with small amounts of lean meat, unrefined grains, olive oil and fish. A sample of older adults in the Molise region of Italy had a 25% lower risk of all-cause death.
