South Korea's southern waters seeing longer days of high sea temperature
  • 6 years ago
It seems South Korea's southern waters have been growing warmer during the summer over the last three decades.
According to a research team at the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology,... the number of days of high sea surface temperatures in the waters south of the country has increased by three-point-five days,... every ten years.
Based on data from 1982 to 2017,... the team believes the longer period of warm sea temperatures is mainly due to the impact of climate change.
The team added that the country's eastern and western waters are also seeing longer periods of high sea temperatures,... but cannot say whether that trend will continue in the long run.
