The state of Hawaii's Department of Public Works began the process of damage assessment from Hurricane Lane on Sunday, August 26, 2018 after the storm battered the island over the last few days.

Lane brought heavy winds and severe flooding to Big Island, Oahu and Maui starting Thursday, damaging houses and washing out roads. Over two feet of rain was dumped in 24 hours.

This video, filmed by Jaykob Cheney on August 23, shows evidence of a small landslide that took place.

While the worst of the storm is over, authorities warn that rain will continue through the week.
