South Korea's foreign ministry has responded,.... saying it will not analyze every single change in the situation, but look at the longer-term picture.
The ministry said Saturday that foreign minister Kang Kyung-wha and Pompeo spoke over the phone in the morning, where he explained the reasoning behind the move.
Kang expressed regret, but said the allies reaffirmed their airtight cooperation to continue the current momentum for dialogue and achieve the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
The ministry also said it has been closely working with the U.S. and the international community to adhere to UN Security Council resolutions on the North.
It added that it looks forward to China playing a constructive role in solving the North Korea issue as well.
