China-U.S. trade war to have limited impact on S. Korean economy
  • 6 years ago
The trade battle between China and the U.S. is expected to have an impact on the South Korean economy in the latter half of the year, but only a limited one.
The Korea International Trade Association projected Sunday that the damage will amount to less than 236-and-a-half-million U.S. dollars.
That's if the annual value of imported products from the U.S. or China, subject to 25-percent punitive tariffs, rises to 50-billion dollars.
The institute suggested, however, that Korea needs to have contingency plans... such as diversifying its trade routes to places like India and the ASEAN region.
High-level talks between the world's two biggest economies are expected this week,... which could pave the way for a summit between their leaders in November.
