Ceremony in Washington honors Korean War MIA/POW
  • 6 years ago
A ceremony was held in Washington, D.C., on Saturday to remember the Americans who never made it back from the Korean War -- those still categorized as missing in action or prisoners of war.
Organized by the Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation, the names of 7-thousand-7-hundred-and-4 American service members were read out by their relatives and by volunteers.
In attendence at the Korean War Veterans Memorial... were the South Korean ambassador to the U.S., Cho Yoon-je and the head of the U.S. Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, Kelly McKeague.
McKeague said the return earlier this month of 55 sets of remains from North Korea is a sign of hope, and pledged that the DPAA will continue to work for the return of all the missing.
