PM Lee pushes for expansion of government support on existing businesses and start-ups

Starting a brand new business is tough and it's even harder to get back on the saddle after a devastating failure.
That's why the government is seeking to provide some much needed support, and also, strengthen the technology available for those starting new companies.
Seoul's Prime Minister laid out some possible measures: Make it easier for SMEs to wind up if they have to.
Reduce the costs incurred by failed businesses.
Provide greater support for startups and generally reduce the pressure on entrepreneurs.
Lee Nak-yeon noted the number of start-ups recorded an all-time high in H1 at nearly 52-thousand-800, up 6-point-8 percent on-year.
The PM also quoted a World Bank report ranking the nation fourth in in the world in terms of business environment and ninth in start-up environment.
Still, a local survey found 48 percent of young professionals are relunctant to go into business because of the difficulty of re-starting.
