Slam City Skates have been a mainstay in the English skateboarding scene since 1986, and one of its oldest locations have been in operation since 1988 in Neal's Yard. Having occupied the aging space for 27 years, it came time to move to a new location in 2015. Opening its doors this past April, Slam City Skates Covent Garden found a new home on 37 Endell St., just a few minutes away from its old location with a busier intersection and friendly neighbors to match. Once you walk into the space, a huge board wall welcomes you with a variety of decks on display, but its roots at the old store aren't forgotten with a variety of memorabilia on the walls. The space was specially designed by Lupin Carpentry, founded by Toby Shaw, an ex-skateboarder. A perfect union is made event more meaningful with English oak comprising the entirety of the space. Check out the video above to have an inside peek at Slam City Skate's new digs.
